When it comes to quality golf balls, there are just a few names that stand out at the top of the list. Callaway is one of those names, and it’s been that way for a long time. Year after year, the company introduces golf balls that are a step ahead in terms of design and technology.

New for this year is the Chrome Soft X golf ball. The most popular Callaway ball on the major world tours, you know this ball has a lot going for it.

Let’s take a closer look at how the Chrome Soft X sets itself apart.

Key Features

Triple Track Technology makes alignment easy.

Hyper Elastic FastSoft Core increases ball speed for more distance and is soft and responsive around the green.

Tour Aero dimple design optimizes aerodynamics.

Design and Technology

Speaking of design and technology, the Callaway Chrome Soft X is jam-packed with advanced features that help golfers get the most out of their game from the tee all the way through the green.

To start, all-new Precision Technology helps to reduce side spin for tighter shot dispersion. That means more shots in the fairway and on the green where you want them. The technology also maximizes the transfer of energy between the club and ball at impact. This increases ball speed and translates to more distance.

Also new is the 360 Triple Track feature. A center red line and two outer blue lines encompass the entire circumference of the golf ball. This makes alignment easy both off the tee and on the green.

The Chrome Soft X’s core is revolutionary too. It’s called the Hyper Elastic FastSoft Core. That’s because its properties increase ball speed for maximum distance with your long clubs, while also providing optimal feel and responsiveness on short shots where you need it most.

Callaway’s dimple pattern has long been touted as one of the most advanced in the game. That’s certainly true with the Chrome Soft X. Its Tour Aero dimple pattern is the most aerodynamic of anything on the market.

CONS

  • May not be the best ball for golfers with slower swing speeds.
  • Price point is higher than other, similar balls.
  • Availability may vary depending on location and inventory levels.

Our Experience

I’ve long been a fan of Callaway golf balls, and the Chrome Soft X is no exception. I’m particularly fond of both this ball’s distance off the tee, and the spin and soft feel I’m able to generate with my wedges on short shots.

And you can’t help but notice the benefits of the Triple Track alignment stripes. They’re highly visible and make lining up tee shots and putts easier than it’s ever been before.

This ball quite simply outperforms the competition on every shot.
