Sqairz Golf Shoes Review

By and large, I try to keep my own opinion out of the content I curate here at Golfer’s Authority. But when it comes to Nick Faldo, I just can’t help myself.

You know who I’m talking about. Sir Nick does commentary on Golf Channel for PGA Tour tournaments. He’s been at it long enough that he’s learned to steer clear of the edgy comments that the likes of Johnny Miller too often made. Sure, he put his foot in his mouth early on, but he’s since found a rhythm that keeps me (and lots of other folks) coming back.

His insight is incomparable. It’s intelligent and informed. And no one can provide it but a six-time Major Champion.

Okay, I’m done with my rant, thanks for letting me have my moment.

What we’re really here to talk about are the Sqairz Golf Shoes. And if you’ve paid any attention to golf on television, you’ve surely seen Sir Nick’s commercial endorsing these puppies.

They’ve seemed to be all the rage and I was curious to learn more. Like always, I did some of my own research and asked our Golfer’s Authority readers too.

Let’s have a gander at the findings.

Key Features

Square toe design creates a wide base for unmatched stability.

Strategic sole design keeps your feet on the ground and improves balance.

TPU heel stabilizer runs from the back of your foot into the arch to help keep your feet planted.

Out of all the golf equipment I’ve reviewed (it’s a lot), I’ve never come across a golf shoe that actually promises to enhance your game.

I mean, all the shoes from the major manufacturers promise to be comfortable, add stability, and be snazzy to boot. But none of them have actually published scientific findings to back their claims.

Sqairz is the first.

If you’re the type of golfer that’s looking for every advantage you can find to improve your game, you’ll love Sqairz golf shoes.

Design and Technology

This discussion begins with the way Saqirz shoes look. Yes, they come in different designs and colors which is great. But what we’re talking about is the square toe. Most  golf shoes  have a rounded toe, but not Sqairz. Their wide, square toe gives you plenty of room to utilize the balls of your feet and toes to maximize stability throughout your entire swing.

Surprisingly, the sole on each foot only has six replaceable soft spikes. Most  golf shoes  have more. Through strategic engineering and scientific study however, Sqairz found that this design allowed for both maximum comfort and performance.

Lastly, the smart folks at Sqairz took their research where no other manufacturer has before. Shoelaces. You heard that right, shoelaces.

STA-PUT laces feature small silicone squares that lock in place and stay there the entire round. Whereas traditional shoelaces loosen as you walk more, these don’t. That only serves to guarantee maximum comfort and stability.

Collectively, these design features are what Sqairz call the Torque Generation System (TGS). Working from the back of the foot where the TPU heel stabilizer is found, to the squared toe at the front, this system keeps your feet on the ground and prevents slipping no matter how hard you swing.

PROS

  • Scientifically-inspired design features maximize stability.
  • Plenty of sizes to choose from for both men and women.
  • Different color designs appeal to most every golfer.

CONS

  • Price point is higher than most other golf shoes on the market.
  • Bulky look might be off-putting to some golfers.
  • Availability varies depending on inventory levels.

Our Experience

As stated, I’ve had the chance to take the  Sqairz golf shoes  for a test drive. Aesthetically, I noticed the square toe and liked the overall profile.

The real difference became recognizable as I made my way to the range and walked a few holes. After making a few dozen full swings, I felt that my feet remained quite stable throughout my swing. While it’s hard to say if I gained distance like Sqairz promises, there’s no doubting the added stability in my feet helped me hit shots more solid.

Even though these shoes seem a little heavy when you first put them on, they’re surprisingly light and breathe well. My feet weren’t a sweaty mess after nearly six miles around Papago under the Arizona sun.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Sqairz shoes really help me hit the ball farther?

Sqairz claims their shoes can add distance to your shots, but this is difficult to measure definitively given all the variables involved. Independent tests showed Sqairz shoes allowed pressure to get to the trail heel faster on the backswing, generating more acceleration to the lead side and greater vertical power at impact. However, the shoes' main benefits seem to be tremendous stability, comfort, and performance in all conditions.

How do Sqairz shoes perform in wet weather?

Sqairz shoes are 100% waterproof thanks to a synthetic leather material. They also have a gusseted tongue design to keep water, sand and debris out even in the worst conditions. Reviews confirm they perform very well in wet weather.

Are Sqairz shoes comfortable?

Yes, reviews praise the Sqairz Speed shoe for being extremely comfortable right out of the box and during long rounds of golf. The shoes fit true to size and have a premium look and sturdy construction without being heavy.

How much do Sqairz golf shoes cost?

The Sqairz Speed shoe has a price point just under $200, which is on the higher end but competitive for a premium golf shoe of this caliber. The price is justified by the industry-leading stability, comfort, craftsmanship and performance in all conditions that the shoes provide.

Conclusion

Sir Nick is a guy I have a love-hate relationship with to this day. Well, there’s not much hate, but sometimes the guy’s ego is pretty apparent.

My own feelings aside, it says something that he’s openly and excitedly endorsed Sqairz  golf shoes . Without question, they’re the most technologically advanced shoes on the market and are proven to perform.

If you’re looking for more comfort, stability, consistency, and maybe even distance out of your full swings, give the Sqairz  golf shoes  a go. Chances are you’ll end up buying a second pair like me.
