When I was at the PGA Merchandise show earlier this year, I got to know a lot of brands that I previously wasn’t familiar with. They all had great stories and every single one of the folks behind these brands had one thing in common: they were passionate about the game of golf.

Of all the folks and brands I became acquainted with, Sunday Golf is one that stands out. They’ve been around for a while, but they make some of the coolest, most minimal, well-built golf bags anywhere.

And they were kind enough to send me their latest release, the Sunday Ryder. This bag doesn’t have all the flashy accessories and features like some other bags, but it’s highly functional and well-built.

Let’s have a closer look at what makes the Sunday Ryder so great.

Key Features

Self-balancing shoulder straps adapt to your back and shoulders for a comfortable fit.

Weight of 4.9 pounds makes this bag one of the lightest on the market.

Hidden flat base provides maximum stability.

Design and Technology

Even though the Ryder’s design and function are simple, the bag still contains a number of features that golfers can get excited about.

Perhaps most noticeable is the Ryder’s weight. It clocks in at just 4.9 pounds. That makes it extremely easy to carry or push if you like to walk.

But just because the bag is so lightweight doesn’t mean it’s short on storage. My favorite pocket is called the Frosty and can hold up to four cans of your favorite beverage.

Other pockets include one that’s odor-free, a garment pocket, ball pocket, and valuables pocket. All are velour-lined and have waterproof zippers.

The straps on the Sunday Ryder are in a league of their own too. They’re self-adjusting and extremely comfortable. You won’t have to worry about them digging into your shoulders or having to constantly refit them.

The base of the Ryder is one of the most stable in the game. No matter what type of terrain you set this bag down on, it won’t tip over.

  • Self-adjusting double strap ensures maximum comfort.
  • Light weight is easy to carry, but the bag also fits snugly on a cart.

CONS

  • Price point is a little higher than some other stand bags.

Our Experience

I’ve sampled a lot of golf bags over the years, and I’ll be the first to say that the Sunday Ryder isn’t the most sophisticated one out there. But that’s the beauty of it. It gives you everything you need, and nothing you don’t.

Not only that, but the Ryder is one of the most solidly constructed golf bags I’ve ever seen. The material is sturdy and the seams are all expertly stitched. The colors won’t fade, and you won’t have to worry about tears or fraying.

Simple, efficient, and of the highest quality, the Sunday Ryder has my full endorsement.
