I just got back from the PGA Merchandise Show, and I’ve never seen so much new golf equipment in my life. A lot of that equipment consisted of launch monitors.
One of the most impressive launch monitors I saw was the Swing Caddie SC4. This latest model is a new and improved version of the previous SC300i which was met with critical acclaim.
The new SC4 has all the features of its predecessor, with some new ones that are sure to catch your eye.
Simulation with E6 compatibility allows you to feel like you’re out on the real course.
Launch direction and spin rate are new metrics not previously found with the SC300i.
Android and iOS compatibility sync with most any smart device via the MySwingCaddie app.
The overall design of the SC4 is simple compared to its competitors. But it’s also easy to use and has some cool features worth talking about.
Most notable is the simulator function which can be used with both iOS and Android through the MySwingCaddie app. Another optional subscription is the E6 app which lets you play dozens of photorealistic courses.
Parameters the SC4 measures include: carry and total distance; smash factor; launch angle; swing speed; apex; ball speed; launch direction; and spin rate.
The SC4 uses doppler radar technology to capture all the metrics.
When paired with the MySwingCaddie app, you can access video replay of your swing, store all your data, and even create swing overlays. The app also gives you voice output for shot distances.
The Swing Caddie SC4 is a cutting-edge launch monitor designed to elevate golf practice and simulation experiences. Launched in 2023 by Voice Caddie, this portable device offers professional-grade performance at an affordable price point. With its onboard display, remote control, and compatibility with E6 Connect software, the SC4 provides a comprehensive set of features that cater to both casual and serious golfers. Here’s a closer look at what makes the Swing Caddie SC4 stand out in the market:
PROS
CONS
Like most of our readers, I don’t have the disposable income to drop thousands of dollars on a launch monitor, but I realize just how valuable they can be to improving my game.
Even though this launch monitor isn’t available for purchase quite yet, it’s on my short list of affordable range finders I have my eye on for this coming season. Surely it will be a useful tool as I try to take my handicap from 19 down to nine.
This launch monitor has everything I need, nothing I don’t, and is one of the most affordable options available.
How accurate is the Swing Caddie SC4 compared to more expensive launch monitors?
The Swing Caddie SC4 offers impressive accuracy for its price point, especially with irons and wedges. While not as precise as professional-grade monitors, it provides reliable data on key metrics like carry distance, ball speed, and launch angle. However, some users report less accuracy with drivers and longer clubs.
Can the SC4 be used both indoors and outdoors?
Yes, the Swing Caddie SC4 is designed for use in both indoor and outdoor settings. It performs well on the driving range or golf course, and can also be used with a net or impact screen for indoor practice or simulation.
Does the SC4 require a subscription or additional fees?
No, the SC4 does not require any subscription for its basic launch monitor functionality. However, if you want to use it for golf simulation with E6 Connect software, there is an optional subscription fee for accessing additional courses beyond the one free course included.
How does the SC4's built-in display compare to app-based competitors?
The SC4's built-in display is a standout feature, allowing users to quickly view data without needing to connect to a smartphone. This makes it more convenient for quick practice sessions. The display is bright and easy to read in various lighting conditions.
What are the main improvements of the SC4 over previous Swing Caddie models?
The SC4 offers several improvements over its predecessors, including:
When it comes to golf equipment, you usually get what you pay for. But that’s not necessarily the case when it comes to the Swing Caddie SC4 launch monitor. Even though this unit is priced at a fraction of its competitors, it has all the functions and features you need to improve and start shooting lower scores.
If you’re in the market for a launch monitor, expect quality, but don’t want to break the bank, be sure to give the Swing Caddie SC4 a try.
