If you’ve been reading our equipment reviews lately, you know there’s a lot of new stuff out on the market. That’s because it’s January. And while a lot of folks are feeling the lingering effects of the Holiday hangover, golfers are more excited than ever.

Titleist has made one of the biggest splashes in 2022 with the introduction of their new T-Series irons. While the company used to only come out with a single set of irons at a time, they’ve since realized that one set isn’t going to fit everybody. That’s why they introduced three this year.

This review discusses the 2022 T100 irons. Titleist calls these irons their “Modern Tour Irons”. As the moniker would suggest, these irons are geared toward the better player. It makes sense seeing as these are the irons Jordan Spieth and countless others have in their bag.

Key Features

D18 tungsten weights eliminate the need for weld points and position the CG the spot for optimal launch conditions.

Variable bounce sole ensures proper turf interaction throughout the bag.

Continuous cradle construction creates a seamless surface area across the entire face for more spin and improved shot shaping.

Design and Technology

The T100 irons for 2022 build on the success of those from 2021. The technology and design features in this year’s irons aren’t anything revolutionary. Rather they’re improvements on what was already there.

When you look down at these irons, they scream classic design. Minimal offset and a thin top line inspire confidence at address. When you put these clubs behind the ball, you feel like you’re going to flush it.

The new sole design is engineered to have variable bounce at strategic points. This improves turf interaction in all playing conditions. Not only does this feature keep the club from digging, it improves feel and responsiveness.

D18 tungsten weights eliminate unnecessary weld points that add mass to the head in unwanted spots. As a result, the CG has been strategically placed in a spot that optimizes launch conditions. Even more, this design feature increases stability through the hitting area.

Lastly, the face employs uniform cradle construction. This helps players impart more spin and shape shots. It also creates a cleaner leading edge.

While these clubs are packed with modern technology that’s proven to work, the T100 irons maintain the classic, traditional look good players know and love.

Our Experience

I’ve had the chance to hit the Titleist T100 irons. So has one of our writers. We both agree that this is one of the best-forged clubs we’ve ever hit.

To start, it looks sexy and inspires confidence. Its feel and responsiveness are second to none too.

While these clubs might be a little much for me in the long run, our writer remarked about the turf interaction the sole of these irons provides. As a steep player, he didn’t have any problems with the club digging into the turf.

Most of all, we both loved the traditional, clean look of the T100 irons. In an age where clubs come in all sorts of different shapes and sizes, something simple is refreshing.

Conclusion

If there’s a club manufacturer that continually sticks with what works, it’s Titleist. It’s not very often that you see them go out on a limb and take a chance on something radical when it comes to design and technology. Some golfers say they’re predictable, but why mess with success?

The new T100 irons are improved from last year’s model in small, yet significant ways that are noticeable. They’re arguably the premier player’s club on the market for 2022. Give them a try if you’re looking for something better than what’s currently in your bag. My bet is you’ll like what you see.
