The Vessel Lux XV 2.0 is one of the most organized cart bags Vessel has ever built. It's also a 2023 bag now, so here's who should track one down and who should go straight to Vessel's current Lux cart.

Is the Vessel Lux XV 2.0 worth buying?
So here's the deal with the XV 2.0. Vessel launched it in September 2023, and it was a big update to the original Lux cart bag. The headline was the 15-way top with dividers that run the full length of the bag. Add a cart strap pass-through and one of the best-organized pocket layouts in the category, and you had a bag built for one golfer: the guy who rides every round and wants everything within reach.
The thing is, the XV 2.0 is discontinued. Vessel's current cart collection lists the Lux Pro Cart II and the Lux Cart II, and the XV 2.0 isn't in it, so what's out there now is leftover or used stock. So in this review I'll break down what the XV 2.0 actually gives you, how to make sure you're buying the right bag, and which current Vessel I'd grab if you can't find one.
Quick Overview
- 15-way top: full-length dividers plus a dedicated, lowered putter well. Not 14-way, which is a number you'll still see floating around.
- 22 pockets: that's 15 on the outside and 7 on the inside, laid out so you can reach the front pockets while the bag is strapped to a cart.
- Built for the cart: a cart strap pass-through, a matching strap sleeve, bracket straps, and two Velcro straps for a push cart.
- 8.45 pounds empty: this is a cart bag first. It's not the bag you want on your shoulder for 18 holes.
- Discontinued: launched in 2023 and no longer in Vessel's current cart lineup.

This is Vessel's current Lux Pro Cart II, the fully loaded Lux cart bag to buy now, sold new at vesselgolf.com. It's not the XV 2.0 and Vessel never called it the XV 2.0's replacement. It's the current Lux cart you can actually buy today.

The 15-Way Top Gives Every Club Its Own Lane, All the Way to the Bottom
The 15-way top is the whole reason the XV 2.0 exists, and it's the right call for a cart bag.
A lot of cart bags give you a big top with dividers that stop a few inches down. Your clubs look separated when you peek in, but the shafts cross underneath, and every time you pull an iron out the grip hangs up on the one next to it. Vessel ran these dividers end to end. So every club sits in its own lane the whole way down, and it comes out clean.
That's the stuff you notice on the cart. You're pulling a club, putting a club back, pulling another one, over and over all round. When the dividers go all the way down, you're not wrestling with your bag between shots, and your grips aren't getting chewed up rubbing against each other.
The putter gets its own well, and Vessel dropped it lower in the bag. That keeps the putter out of the way of your other clubs and gives the head its own space.
Now, you'll see some listings call this a 14-way top. The XV 2.0 is 15-way. If a seller's listing says 14, ask questions, because you might be looking at a different Lux generation.
And if you're the type who wants every club locked in place, Vessel also made a Golf Club Organizer that holds nine clubs in their own slots. Just know it's sold separately. It doesn't come in the box, so don't count it as part of the bag.
The Storage Is Laid Out for the Cart, Not Just Counted
Twenty-two pockets sounds like a marketing number. But how those pockets are arranged is what makes this bag.
Vessel put four pockets facing forward, right where you can get to them when the bag is strapped on a cart. The top one is the magnetic Pocket Pod, lined with antimicrobial microfiber, and that's your tees, ball markers, and divot tool. Two more zip pockets below it split up your balls and tees so you're not digging through one big pile. Then you've got three pockets on each side for your rain gear, valuables, and the bigger stuff.
Here's how the 22 breaks down. It's 15 pockets on the outside and 7 on the inside. That's why you'll see different numbers depending on who's counting, because some people count a pocket inside a pocket and some don't. The number I'd go by is 15 outside plus 7 inside.
And the little details are good. There's an interior lock pocket, key hooks, velour-lined personal pockets, pen slots, and a battery pouch if you run an electric trolley. You also get an umbrella holder, a towel ring, a bottle opener, and a spot to stash the rain hood.
The drink setup is better than most cart bags, too. You get two magnetic bottle sleeves plus a big insulated cooler pocket with drainage. So you can load it with ice and drinks and not worry about water soaking the rest of your gear. That makes a ton of sense on a cart, where you're not paying for that weight with your shoulder.
The Cart Strap Pass-Through Keeps Your Front Pockets Open
This is the problem every cart bag has. You strap it to the cart, and the strap goes right across your pockets. Now you're unbuckling the strap every time you need a ball.
The XV 2.0 fixes that with a cart strap pass-through. The cart strap slides through the bag instead of across the front, so your pockets stay open while the bag is locked down. Vessel includes a matching sleeve that covers the strap where it touches the bag, which protects the finish and helps keep the strap in place. And it looks clean, too, which matters on a bag this nice.
For push carts, you get bracket straps and two Velcro straps to hold the bag steady. That's good because an 8.45-pound bag full of clubs and drinks needs to stay put when you're going over bumps.
Now, one thing to check before you buy. Carts don't all use the same strap. The pass-through works best with a thin canvas strap. Some push carts use thick, raised rubber straps that make the opening tight, and the strap can sit a little out of line. If you use a push cart, take a look at your cart's strap first. That's a two-minute check that saves you a headache.
Here's Which Vessel Lux Cart Bag I'd Buy Today
Vessel listed the Lux XV 2.0 at $455 on May 23, 2024. If you find a real XV 2.0 at a fair price, and it's clearly the 15-way XV 2.0 and not some other generation, I'd buy it. That's a lot of bag for the money.
But you have to confirm what you're getting. Here's how I'd do it:
- Check the name and the top. It should say Lux XV 2.0 and 15-way. Not 14-way, not "Lux Pro Cart."
- Check what's included. The cart strap sleeve should be there. The 9-club organizer won't be unless the seller says so.
- Ask about the warranty. Vessel offers a one-year warranty on its current bags. On an older model, confirm the terms with whoever's selling it.
If you can't find one, don't overthink it. Buy one of Vessel's current Lux cart bags instead. Just know they're not the XV 2.0 with a new name. Vessel never called either one a replacement, so treat them as their own bags.

The Lux Pro Cart II is the fully loaded one. You pick a 7-way or 15-way top, and either way you get full-length velour-wrapped dividers and a putter well. On top of that, you get four magnetic pouches, extra hidden valuables pockets with key hooks, a silk-velvet interior lining, a magnetic pod that sits over the cart strap, and a hidden AirTag slot. On my Lux Pro Cart Series 2, I use the magnetic section of the pocket pod for my tees and ball markers and the zipper section for things like my watch and wallet. It's 9.3 pounds with the 15-way top, so it's a cart bag through and through.

The Lux Cart II is the one I'd point most golfers to. It has the same 12 by 10.5 inch top in 7-way or 15-way, the same full-length dividers, the same cart pass-through and magnetic pod, and it weighs a full pound less than the Pro. You're giving up two magnetic pouches, some hidden storage, and the plusher interior. If you lift your bag in and out of the car every round, that pound is worth saving.
Here's how the two current Lux cart bags line up. Prices checked October 12, 2026, on Vessel's own site.
| Price at Vessel | Top | Weight | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vessel Lux Pro Cart II | $519 | 7-way or 15-way | 8.9 or 9.3 lb |
| Vessel Lux Cart II | $469 | 7-way or 15-way | 7.9 or 8.3 lb |
I break down both in my Lux Cart Series 2 review, and you can watch my video comparing the Lux Cart and Lux Pro Cart Series 2 to see the pockets up close.
What I Don't Love
It's heavy. The XV 2.0 is 8.45 pounds before you put a club in it, and once you add the strap and rain hood it's heavier still. On a cart, that doesn't matter at all. But if you walk and carry, this isn't your bag, and Vessel's stand bags make a lot more sense.
The synthetic leather looks awesome, but you have to take care of it. It can pick up dirt. Keep a towel handy and wipe it down after a muddy round, and it'll keep looking sharp.
It's also water-resistant, not waterproof. The zippers and materials are made to handle wet conditions, and there's a rain hood for when it really comes down. Use the hood in heavy rain and you'll be fine.
And the biggest catch is that it's discontinued. Finding one takes some hunting, and you need to confirm the warranty with the seller. If that's more hassle than you want, the current Lux cart bags solve it.

Vessel's current Lux Pro Cart II is the model to buy now: the fully loaded Lux cart bag, sold new with Vessel's warranty and more storage than the XV 2.0. It's a different bag, not the XV 2.0 renamed.

Skip it if:

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Vessel Lux XV 2.0 still available?
It's discontinued. Vessel launched it in 2023 and doesn't list it in its current cart lineup, so what you'll find is leftover or used stock. If you can't find one, Vessel's current Lux Pro Cart II and Lux Cart II are the bags to look at.
Is the Vessel Lux Pro Cart II the same bag as the Lux XV 2.0?
No. Vessel's current fully loaded cart bag is the Lux Pro Cart II, offered in 7-way and 15-way tops, with four magnetic pouches and a silk-velvet interior. Vessel never called it the XV 2.0's replacement, so don't buy one expecting the other.
Does the Vessel Lux XV 2.0 have a 14-way or 15-way top?
The XV 2.0 has a 15-way top with full-length dividers and a dedicated, lowered putter well. If a listing calls it a 14-way, double-check the model, because it may be a different Lux generation.
How much does the Vessel Lux XV 2.0 weigh?
The bag weighs 8.45 pounds empty, before clubs, the strap, the rain hood, or anything you pack. That's why it works best on a riding cart or push cart instead of on your shoulder.
Is the Vessel Lux XV 2.0 waterproof?
Water-resistant, yes. Waterproof, no. Vessel builds the zippers and the fabric to shrug off wet weather, and the bag comes with a rain hood. Pull that hood out when it really pours, and give the synthetic leather a wipe once you're done.
Final Thoughts: Vessel Lux XV 2.0 Review
The XV 2.0 is still a great cart bag if you can find the real thing at a fair price. The 15-way top, the full-length dividers, and the cart-first pocket layout hold up.
If you can't find one, skip the hunt. The Lux Cart II is the one I'd grab, and the Lux Pro Cart II is there if you want every pocket Vessel makes.
