If you’re a regular reader of our product reviews here at Golfer’s Authority, you know we’ve long been big fans of Vessel golf bags. For years, they’ve led the way in premium golf bag design and construction. And they’re constantly releasing new products, each one better than the previous.

That’s why I was so excited when I got my hands on the Vessel Player IV stand bag. As someone that likes to walk when I play, this bag has everything I need, and no detail was overlooked in its design.

Key Features

Internal base divider keeps grips separated for smooth club retrieval.

Top-end materials used in construction are built to last and look sharp.

Rotational base keeps the bag stable no matter what kind of terrain you set it down on.

Design and Technology

Nobody incorporates more high-end design and technology features in their golf bags than Vessel. That’s especially true with the Player IV.

One of the features that really stands out with the Player IV is the rotational base. Unlike a lot of other stand bags that have a static base, the Player IV’s rotates to fit the contours on which it sits. This increases stability and keeps the bag from tipping over on uneven ground.

The straps are also some of the most comfortable of any bag you’ll find. Their equilibrium design automatically molds itself to your shoulders and back. This eliminates the trouble of having to constantly adjust straps and worrying about clubs falling out as you walk down the fairway.

New in the Player IV is an internal divider that keeps all your grips separated. This makes getting your clubs out and putting them away easy. You won’t ever have to worry about shafts getting tangled.

Carbon fiber legs are extremely durable and lightweight. They hardly add any weight to the bag at all.

In total, the Player IV has no less than 15 pockets. They all have waterproof zippers, so you’ll never have to worry about your gear getting wet. Compared to previous models, the Player IV has increased insulated cooler space as well.

Other features include a Velcro glove patch, bottle opener, towel ring, umbrella holder, rain hood, pen holder, and neoprene back panel.

Suffice it to say, there isn’t much the Vessel Player IV doesn’t have.

Our Experience

I’ve used Vessel bags for as long as I can remember. And it comes as no surprise that the Player IV is my favorite stand bag out of all I’ve tried.

The top-notch materials and construction of this bag are what stand out the most to me. The moment you pick this bag up, you just know it’s a cut above the rest.

Additionally, the added pockets and storage give me plenty of room for everything I need. I can even store my filming equipment when I document my rounds for my Road to Scratch YouTube series. That’s saying a lot for a stand bag.

Lastly, the equilibrium straps are the most comfortable I’ve ever worn. While the straps on other stand bags must constantly be adjusted and can dig into your shoulders, that’s anything but the case with these.
