When I was a kid learning to play the game of golf, it was a lot harder than it is now. It literally involved hitting balls until my hands bled and digging it out of the dirt with inferior equipment.

My how times have changed. Thanks to monumental advances in teaching, equipment, and technology, the learning curve with golf has steepened dramatically.

And a lot of that has to do with the invention and ready availability of launch monitors. Any live look at the driving range on the PGA or LPGA Tour will have every player with a cadre of gurus and a Trackman launch monitor behind them. Must be nice!

Unfortunately, most of us mere mortals can’t afford the likes of Trackmans and gurus to tell us how to make our every move.

The good news is that Garmin’s R10 launch monitor is affordable and can give you the info you need to get the most out of your practice time and get better faster.

Key Features

Launch monitor can be used indoors or outdoors so you’ll always be able to work on your game.

More than 42,000 courses allow you to play anywhere in the world from the comfort of your home.

Garmin Golf app allows you to interact and even compete against other Garmin users.

Design and Technology

While tech features and fancy functions are what we all like, what I love most about the Garmin R10 launch monitor is its ease of use.

It’s super lightweight and easy to transport anywhere you go. It also has a battery life of up to 10 hours. I don’t know about you, but that’s a lot of time on the range.

The metrics you get are second to none too. They include figures like clubhead and ball speed, spin, launch angle, launch direction, smash factor, and many more.

If you feel like playing instead of practicing, you’ll never be bored playing the same track twice. The R10 comes with more than 42,000 preloaded courses.

E6 Connect compatibility will take your virtual golf experience to a whole other level. Photorealistic courses make you feel like you’re there in the person playing the world’s most iconic tracks.

Awesome Golf compatibility requires an additional subscription, but makes it easy to compete with your family and friends no matter where you’re at.

TGC 2019 Software compatibility gives you access to an additional 150,000 courses and even lets you design your own.

Lastly, Pinseeker app compatibility gives you access to competitions where you can take on other golfers from around the world for cash prizes.

At the end of the day, you get a lot more than a bang for your buck with the Garmin R10 golf launch monitor.
