When it comes to putters, L.A.B. Golf is taking the golf industry by storm. Even though they’ve only been around for a short while, their putters continue to prove time and again that they help golfers of all abilities make more putts.

L.A.B. stands for Lie Angle Technology and is the cornerstone behind the entire LAB concept.

In today’s review, let’s take a close look at the MEZZ. 1 Max Putter.

Key Features

Putter stays square all by itself to help putts start online and roll true.

Responsive feedback lets you know exactly where on the face the ball was struck.

Available in standard-length, armlock, and broom handle models.

Design and Technology

With the MEZZ. 1 Max, the story begins with Lie Angle Technology. The design team at L.A.B. spent countless hours researching and perfecting this concept which holds that the key to great putting is returning the putter face to square at impact, or perpendicular to the target line. This technology makes it easy for golfers to do just that.

It’s larger than average head design is perfect for golfers that need ample forgiveness too. Even if you catch a putt out of the toe or heel, it’s still going to feel solid and travel close to the same distance as a putt that was solidly struck.

The MEZZ. 1 is made from nothing but the best materials too. The midsection is made from 303 stainless steel that’s CNC-milled. The body consists of 6061 aircraft grade aluminum. Both materials combine to give you the very best in terms of both stability and feel.

L.A.B. Golf hasn’t been around all that long. But they’re already changing the way we think about putters. The MEZZ. 1 Max is certainly part of that story. If you’re ready to start shooting lower scores, making more putts, and having more fun out on the course, give the MEZZ. 1 Max a try. My guess is the results will surprise you.

  • Lie Angle Balance Technology makes it easy to keep the putter face square to the target.
  • Easy customization and fitting options mean you’ll always end up with a putter that fits.
  • Top-of-the-line materials provide both stability and responsiveness.

CONS

  • Price point is higher than other putters on the market.
  • Head profile and design can take a little getting used to for some golfers.
  • Shipping and build times can vary.

Our Experience

I’ve been lucky to try a number of different putters from L.A.B. Golf, and the MEZZ. 1 Max is my favorite.

It’s smaller than the Directed Force 2.1, but its lines are clean and it sets up square.

I also really like the feel and stability of this putter. When I strike a putt solid, I’m able to tell. However, it’s still forgiving enough that mishits aren’t punished.

I’m a fan of this putter, and I see why so many other golfers are too.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the L.A.B. MEZZ. 1 Max Putter unique compared to other putters?

The L.A.B. MEZZ. 1 Max Putter stands out due to its Lie Angle Balance (L.A.B.) technology, which ensures that the putter stays square throughout the stroke. This design aims to make the putting stroke more effortless and consistent. Additionally, the MEZZ. 1 Max is 20% larger than the standard MEZZ.1, providing enhanced stability and forgiveness.

What customization options are available for the L.A.B. MEZZ. 1 Max Putter?

The MEZZ. 1 Max offers extensive customization options. You can choose from different lengths (standard, armlock, and broomstick), weights (standard, heavy, or light), and various alignment aids. There are also multiple color options for the putter head and shaft, as well as different grip styles and forward press angles.

How does the forward press feature in the grip and shaft work?

The forward press feature is integrated into the design of the shaft and grip, allowing for a slight forward lean at address. This built-in forward press helps to promote a more consistent stroke by ensuring the hands are ahead of the ball at impact, which can improve the roll and accuracy of putts.

Who is the L.A.B. MEZZ. 1 Max Putter best suited for?

The MEZZ. 1 Max Putter is ideal for golfers who are serious about improving their putting performance. It is particularly beneficial for those who struggle with keeping the putter face square through the stroke. However, due to its advanced technology and higher price point, it is recommended for more experienced golfers rather than beginners.

What is the return policy for the L.A.B. MEZZ. 1 Max Putter?

L.A.B. Golf offers a 14-day return policy for stock putters, provided they are returned in new condition. Custom putters, however, cannot be returned unless you were properly fitted through their remote fitting process or by a certified fitter. In such cases, a $150 restocking fee applies, and the putter must be returned within 14 days of arrival.
