If you’ve read many of the reviews I’ve posted on the Golfer’s Authority website lately, you’re well aware that I spent a ton of time earlier this year testing the hottest drivers for 2024. By now, my blisters have turned into calluses, so I’ve got that going for me.
In all seriousness, this review is going to cover what I think might be one of the most universally beneficial drivers of the year. It’s the TaylorMade Qi10.
As you know, TaylorMade has had a monopoly in the driver category for a long time. Every year, they continue to outperform the competition and this year is no different.
The Qi10 driver incorporates some of the most advanced tech on the market, and golfers of all abilities are raving about it.
So, with that said, let’s take a closer look at why this driver is one of my favorites in 2024.
Multi-material construction maximizes both distance and forgiveness.
Infinity Carbon Crown is incredibly light and allows mass to be dispersed to the perimeter of the club where it can be used more efficiently.
60X Carbon Twist Face maximizes transfer of energy from the club to the ball at impact.
It shouldn’t come as any surprise that TaylorMade’s Qi10 driver is loaded with cutting-edge tech that’s designed to help golfers maximize their performance from the tee.
What stood out to me immediately was how forgiving this driver is. I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t catch every one of my drives in the center of the clubface. But mishits off the heel and toe, and high on low on the face, performed remarkably well compared to a lot of other drivers I tested. That’s thanks to multi-material construction that maximizes MOI (forgiveness).
Next on the list is the Infinity Carbon Crown that’s one of the lightest of any driver ever made. The top of this club is made of super lightweight carbon that not only increases its aerodynamic performance, but also allows weight to be moved to the perimeter to the club’s perimeter where it aids in reducing torque and adds stability.
As we all know, TaylorMade has long produced incredibly hot driver faces. The Qi10 is no different. Its 60X Carbon Twist Face is substantially lighter than the titanium faces that other manufacturers employ. So, what does all that mean? A huge reduction in forward clubhead weight which in turn, results in explosive ball speeds and added distance.
Last, but certainly not least, is the Qi10’s adjustability. A 4-degree loft sleeve allows you to optimize loft and clubface settings to your individual swing.
Is the Qi10 leading the way in terms of tech? Does it live up the TaylorMade’s hype? The answer is a resounding YES on both fronts.
Like I said, of all the drivers I tested for 2024, not many were as universally beneficial to players of all abilities as the Qi10. This driver’s distance and forgiveness capabilities are off the charts.
As a mid to high-handicapper myself, I see the benefits. But guess who else does? Rory McIlroy. That’s right, he currently has the same driver in his bag. What I’m trying to say is that the TaylorMade Qi10 driver offers a ton of benefits no matter if you’re a scratch player or trying to break 100 for the first time.
PROS
CONS
I can’t reiterate enough the benefits I see with the TaylorMade Qi10 driver. In short, this driver maximizes both distance and forgiveness, without sacrificing anything in between.
Between the lightweight carbon crown, the lightweight Twist Face, and plenty of adjustability, this driver delivers on every single front. It comes as no surprise from a company as reputable as TaylorMade.
In short, the TaylorMade Qi10 driver has my absolute full endorsement as one of the most high-tech, best-performing drivers for players of all abilities in 2024.
What are the key features of the TaylorMade Qi10 Driver?
The Qi10 driver features a new Infinity Carbon Crown covering 97% of the crown area, a third-generation 60X Carbon Twist Face for improved energy transfer, and a Thru-Slot Speed Pocket for preserved ball speed on low-face strikes. It also includes a 4° adjustable loft sleeve for fine-tuning.
How does the Qi10 compare to previous TaylorMade drivers?
The Qi10 offers improved forgiveness and distance compared to its predecessors. It features lower CG projection and higher MOI than previous models, delivering balanced performance without tradeoffs. Many users report longer and straighter drives compared to the Stealth and Stealth 2 models.
What are the different models available in the Qi10 line?
Who is the Qi10 driver best suited for?
The standard Qi10 model is designed for a wide range of golfers seeking a balance of forgiveness and distance. The Qi10 Max is ideal for those needing maximum stability and forgiveness, while the Qi10 LS is best for skilled players desiring low spin and workability.
How can I customize my Qi10 driver?
The Qi10 driver comes with a 4° adjustable loft sleeve, allowing you to fine-tune the loft and face angle. Additionally, TaylorMade offers custom options through their website, including different shaft and grip choices to further optimize performance for your swing.
TaylorMade is a company that downright understands how to make drivers. For years, they’ve paved the way for better performance from the tee for everyone from Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy to weekend warriors like you and me.
As expected, the TaylorMade Qi10 exceeds expectations on every level and I’m confident it will outperform the driver you have in your bag right now.
