There might not be another sport in the world that’s been more positively affected because of technology than golf. And that’s especially true when it comes to measuring distance.

In the old days, you had to pace off yardages from a sprinkler head, guess where the pin was on the green, what the wind was doing, the list goes on.

Now most of those variables are taken out of the equation thanks to rangefinders.

But the problem is, the best ones cost an arm and a leg.

Fortunately, there are some affordable options out there more than get the job done. And one of the best ones I’ve come across is the TecTecTec KLYR Rangefinder.

Key Features

Compact size makes it easy to always have this rangefinder close at hand.

Slope feature calculates yardages that account for uphill and downhill slopes..

Target lock feature lets you know when you’ve zeroed in on the flag.

Design and Technology

Are there rangefinders out there that are so high-tech they could solve international conflicts? Maybe.

But ask yourself a simple question: What do you really need other than accurate yardages?

The TecTecTec KLYR doesn’t have all the extra bells, whistles, gizmos, and gadgets that other, more expensive rangefinders boast.

But, it has all the necessary functions to get you the information you need to play your best golf.

The feature that struck me right away with this rangefinder was its compact size. Unlike other rangefinders, this one is small enough to fit in my pocket without getting in the way. If you don’t want to put it there, it comes with a handy belt clip and an ultra-strong magnet that you can attach to any metal surface.

The slope feature is cutting-edge as well. When you’re faced with an uphill or downhill shot, the TecTecTec KLYR will give you a gross yardage, and one that adjusts for slope as well. If you’re playing in a tournament where adjusted yardages aren’t allowed, just slide the slope button to the off position and you’re good to go.

A lot of rangefinders give you a yardage based on the first thing you pick up in the scope. You never know if it’s the flag, or a tree behind the green. . . Those worries are alleviated with the TecTecTec KLYR. Once you’ve locked in on the flag, you get a vibrating alert letting you know you’re on target.

In total, the TecTecTec KLYR has all the features you need to get accurate yardages, play faster, be more efficient, and have more fun out on the course.

Our Experience

When it comes to rangefinders, I’ve tried just about everything under the sun. Are there rangefinders out there that have more features and capabilities? Of course. They also cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars more.

When it comes to equipment, I’m all about bang for my buck, and that’s exactly what the TecTecTec has given me. All the necessary functions I need, and none that I don’t.

For the price you pay, I can’t recommend this rangefinder enough.
