While the Titleist TSR2 driver is one of the most forgiving the company has ever made, the TSR3 is one of the most advanced for players looking for speed, distance, and playability.

New for 2024, the TSR3 is packed with tech and design features that help elite players get the most out of their game from the tee.

Let’s take a closer look at everything the TSR3 has to offer.

Key Features

Speed Ring Variable Face Thickness Technology allows golfers to focus the CT/COR relationship into a precise point for maximum speed.

Refined clubhead profile increases aerodynamic capabilities.

SureFit Adjustable CG Track System allows for precise speed zone placement catered to your swing.

Design and Technology

The first thing I read about before I started testing the Titleist TSR3 driver was Speed Ring Variable Face Thickness Technology. That’s a mouthful to be sure, but it sounded interesting, and I wanted to know more about it.

This technology allowed Titleist to focus the maximum CT/COR relationship in a strategic point to make the sweet spot even sweeter. We’re talking about ball speed like you’ve never seen before.

Once I got into testing, I noticed a substantial increase in my clubhead speed. That’s thanks to some subtle refinements that have been made to make the TSR3 more aerodynamic.

Another cool feature is the SureFit Adjustable CG Track System that makes it easy to adjust the CG to your specific swing for optimal launch conditions and ball flight.

Lastly, SureFit adjustable hosel makes it easy to adjust loft and lie angle so you can really dial things in.

Just like the TSR2, there’s nothing new that really jumps off the page with the TSR3. Titleist just took what worked well already and made it even better.

Titleist TSR3 Driver

If you’re like me and need all the forgiveness and distance features you can get in a driver, you might be better off putting the Titleist TSR2 in your bag.

However, if you’re looking to not only maximize distance but achieve ultimate control and playability, the TSR3 will get you there.

This is an advanced golf club meant for advanced players.

PROS

  • Speed Ring Variable Face Thickness Technology concentrates CT/COR in a central point for unbelievable ball speed.
  • Sleeker design makes the driver more aerodynamically efficient.
  • Lots of shaft options allow for easy fitting and customization.

CONS

  • Driver lacks some of the forgiveness needed for high-handicappers and inconsistent ball strikers.
  • Price point is higher than other drivers.
  • Availability is dependent on demand and inventory levels.

Our Experience

I’ll be honest, the Titleist TSR3 driver was a lot of driver for me to handle. In other words, I’m just not a consistent enough ball striker to realize all the benefits it has to offer.

However, in testing, it was easy to see how hot this driver is when you catch it in the center of the clubface. I achieved some ball speeds I never had before.

I also picked up some clubhead speed. That had to do with the TSR3 being more aerodynamic than in years past.

Overall, this driver offers a lot for elite players that want control and speed. I just don’t happen to fall into that category.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the key features of the Titleist TSR3 driver?

The TSR3 features advanced aerodynamics for increased clubhead speed, Speed Ring Variable Face Thickness technology for optimized ball speed, and a refined SureFit Adjustable CG Track System for precise tuning. It also includes the SureFit hosel for loft and lie adjustability.

How does the TSR3 compare to its predecessor, the TSi3?

The TSR3 offers slightly improved performance over the TSi3, with marginally better ball speed and carry distance. However, the gains are not dramatic, and TSi3 users may not see significant improvements. The TSR3 does feature refined aerodynamics and an updated CG track system.

Who is the TSR3 driver best suited for?

The TSR3 is designed for better players and low handicappers who consistently strike the ball in the center of the face. It offers lower spin and launch characteristics compared to other models in the TSR line, making it ideal for skilled golfers seeking precise control and shot-shaping abilities.

How adjustable is the TSR3 driver?

The TSR3 offers extensive adjustability options. It features the SureFit hosel for loft and lie angle adjustments, as well as a five-position SureFit CG track on the sole. This allows golfers to fine-tune their launch conditions and shot shape preferences.

What custom shaft options are available for the TSR3?

Titleist offers an extensive selection of custom shaft options for the TSR3 driver with no upcharg. Featured aftermarket options include:

Conclusion

Titleist has long held the unofficial title of the ‘good player’s brand’. And while they’ve made more clubs for higher handicappers as of late, the TSR3 driver speaks to that moniker.

If you’re an elite player, you know you can trust the Titleist brand to deliver. The 2024 TSR3 driver only provides further evidence.
